3T claims the Exploro as the world’s first aero gravel bike

The RaceMax frameset is made to accommodate any riding style with the proper setup. This setup is for the rider who is looking for road like speed on gravel or tough terrain. It is equipped with Campagnolo Shamal Carbon wheels and a Campagnolo Ekar Gravel 13 Speed Groupset.

3T managed to create a frame that has the same reactive feel as a road frame and can handle technical downhills like a mountain bike. Behind this type of versatility and all-around performance, it is no surprise that the Exploro has won multiple design awards in the last few years.

Like the original Exploro, the RaceMax focuses on aerodynamic performance, making it an extremely unique gravel bike. While most riders think of aerodynamics in terms of road bikes, it is important to remember that headwinds and crosswinds are still a factor on gravel and single tracks. With the addition of the “Race” setup on this bike, speed is not hard to come by. 3T calls their gravel aero technology “Squaro.” This derives from the aerodynamic construction that is more square shaped than the typical narrow profile of an aero road bike. Squaro is utilized on the downtube, seat tube, seatpost, and seatstays. This build is also perfect for properly hiding bottle cages and to work well while covered in mud.

The frame of the 3T Exploro RaceMax is made with unidirectional carbon which is both lightweight and stiff. This makes it tough and rigid enough to deal with some of the most daunting terrain off the road. It features a very stiff bottom bracket that helps it remain tough and efficient on a trail. It also allows for internal cable routing which keeps a sleek look and keeps cables safe from the elements.

Bikes that are shipped come partially assembled, while those picked up in-store are fully built.
